JAKARTA Premium Lite will officially become a new service on YouTube in the near future. On March 5, 2025, YouTube confirmed that it would launch the subscription package in three countries.

The country is Thailand, Germany, Australia. These three countries have been the first test areas for the Premium Lite package since October 2024. After nearly six months of testing, YouTube is finally ready to launch the package.

"In the coming weeks, we will also provide Premium Lite for all users in our current test countries, Thailand, Germany and Australia," YouTube said on its official website.

In addition, YouTube also said that it began expanding the package to other countries, namely the US. The company began testing the Premium Lite package in the US on March 5, 2025, to measure reactions and enthusiasm of a number of users.

Premium Lite in the US will be priced at 7.99 US dollars or equivalent to IDR 130 thousand per month. The price for the Premium Lite package will be different in various countries. However, one thing is certain, this package will be cheaper than the Individual package.

Premium Lite is a new package provided to reach more Premium users at a more affordable price. According to YouTube, this package is suitable for users who want to avoid advertising.

However, this subscription package is not free from ads of up to 100 percent. Users still get some ads, but these ads are more limited and will not interfere with YouTube shows as users feel on a free account.
