Apple Will Launch AI-Based App Summary On App Store

JAKARTA Apple has added another new feature through the beta version of iOS 18.4 update. This time, the company added Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based features to its App Store, its app store.

Based on Apple's announcement on the developer's special website, this feature is referred to as the AI Summary. Apple will add a embedded feature on the application page so that iPhone users can learn the app or game they want to download.

This new feature also makes it easier for users who want to know the overall performance of the application, both in terms of good and bad. They no longer need to read the reviews one by one because the AI summary is taken from the review section.

"Made using a big language model (LLM), each summary collects the spotlight and main information from individual user reviews into short paragraphs," Apple said, quoted on Thursday, March 6.

The company explains that they always update their summary once a week. That way, potential app users can get the latest information. Fortunately, this feature will also be available on iPadOS 18.4.

For now, AI summary is still being tested and has just rolled out to a number of beta users. The launch is still being carried out in stages so that Apple only supports one language for now, namely English.

Apple has also just featured its summary in a number of apps and games available on the US App Store. In the future, Apple will expand the feature to more game and game apps as well as to more countries with new language support.
