Apple Accused Of Misleading Buyers With Carbon Neutral Claims On Apple Watch Products

JAKARTA Apple has accepted a lawsuit from its consumers. The company was charged with making false and misleading claims to one of its products, namely Apple Watch.

According to a Reuters report, there were about seven plaintiffs who filed a complaint with the Federal Court in San Jose, California after buying the Apple Watch 9 Series, Apple Watch SE and, Apple Watch Ultra 2. According to them, the 'neutral carbon' nature of the three hours was false and misleading.

Therefore, they admit that they regret buying the three Apple Watch models at an expensive price. If they know that the three models are not 'neutral carbon', they will spend less money or not buying them at all.

Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 launched in 2023. When it was first introduced, Apple stated that the watch was carbon neutral thanks to a low combination of emissions and carbon compensation purchases.

Even when launching the Apple Watch 9 Series, Apple said that this device became the 'first carbon neutral product to be designed in a unique way' to reduce carbon emissions. However, the plaintiffs believe that this claim is false.

This stray carbon neutral claim was proposed because Apple's two carbon development products did not meet the company's emission target so it did not provide the right carbon reduction. That way, no carbon neutrality in the devices is launched.

The plaintiffs did not accept this lie so they asked for compensation from the company. They asked for compensation, most likely in the form of reimbursement, and a blocking order against the use of the carbon neutral term in their products.
