JAKARTA China's car manufacturer, Great Wall Motor, and major Chinese telecommunications service provider are now integrating the artificial intelligence (AI) model released by DeepSek into their products. This move shows that more and more Chinese companies want to take advantage of the breakthrough from the startup and increasing attention to this technology.
Hebei-based Great Wall Motor, the first automotive company to be listed on the Chinese stock exchange, confirmed to Reuters that it had integrated DeepSee into their smart vehicle system called "Coffee Intelligence". State media, Securities Times, first reported on the development on Sunday, February 9.
Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIT) announced on Saturday 8 February that the country's three largest telecommunications companies China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom are trying to "promot the implementation of the latest AI technology inclusively" and work closely with the DeepSeek open-source model.
The AI DeepSeek platform, which has the potential to change the dynamics of the AI industry's growing economy, has sparked investor speculation about its positive impact on China's technology sector more broadly. It also prompted a nationalist call to increase the valuation of Chinese technology assets.
Chinese investors have in recent days flocked to buy shares related to AI, including chipmakers, software developers, and data center operators.
As of Sunday, two listed companies are expected to benefit from the more cost-effective DeepSek model reminding investors that their business prospects have not changed, although Beijing welcomes DeepSek integration by big companies.
