X Launches Special Profile Label For Parody Accounts

JAKARTA - Social media platform X officially announced that it has launched a specific profile label for parody accounts, to distinguish them from real accounts.

"We launched a profile label for the parody account to clearly distinguish this type of account and its content on our platform," X wrote in the announcement.

Furthermore, in the announcement X also said that the label will appear on the main page of the account profile, and also appear in every post they make.

"We designed this label to increase transparency and ensure that users are not deceived by the assumption that the account belongs to a parody entity," explained the company.

X added that parody labels will help users identify content sources more clearly. However, X hasn't revealed when this label will become mandatory, they will share details in the near future.

However, X emphasized that the parody accounts must adhere to Rule X, including the Authentic Policy. Users who feel an account is inauthentic or imitate certain parties can report it through the application or Help Center X.
