JAKARTA - Donald Trump has re-released the latest work of Non-Fungible Token digital art aka NFT. The new NFT is called "Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards."

As the name implies, the collection of NFTs belonging to the former President of the United States is present on the Bitcoin network, using the Ordinary protocol that allows data to be stored directly on the Bitcoin blockchain.

At the inaugural launch, 160 cards from the 'Mugshot Edition' series were available, with buyers who acquired 100 cards from the edition able to redeem them in the NFT marketplace, Magic Eden, after connecting their Bitcoin wallets.

The NFT collection was first announced by Trump in January 2024, and consists of a total of 200 cards, with an additional 40 to be launched later. This marks Trump's debut in the world of NFT over the Bitcoin network, although previously he was already involved in other NFT projects.

Previously, Trump released a collection of 'Trump Digital Trading Cards' which included editions such as the 'America First' in August 2024, with exclusive offers such as gold shoes and meals with Trump.

However, the 'America First' collection has not shown any significant signs of trading activity. Another Trump-themed NFT collection also recorded unstable sales.

However, the launch of this new collection of Bitcoin Ordinarys shows a different potential. To date, 29% of the collection has been printed, suggesting considerable interest from fans and collectors.

The NFT market in 2024 is recorded to have reached a sales figure of 8.8 billion US dollars (Rp136.4 trillion), an increase of 100 million US dollars (Rp1.55 trillion) from the previous year. Ethereum and Bitcoin dominate the market by recording sales of 3.1 billion US dollars (Rp48.1 trillion), respectively.
