Wednesday morning, Prabowo leads the inauguration of 1,500 TNI and Polri youth officers

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to lead the Prasetya Perwira (Praspa) ceremony to appoint around 1,500 prospective junior officers of the TNI and Polri at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 22.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the ceremony would begin at 08.00 WIB and be led directly by President Prabowo.

"According to the agenda, the president will lead the Prasetya Perwira TNI and Polri ceremony at the Merdeka Palace at 08.00 WIB," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 21.

According to Prasetyo, the number of prospective officers who will be inaugurated is estimated to reach around 1,500 people. However, this figure is still provisional because there is an adjustment to the number of students or cadets.

"The estimate is around 1,500 people, but we will make sure again because there is an increase in the number of students or cadets," he said.

The Prasetya Perwira ceremony is an annual agenda that marks the appointment of TNI and Polri academy graduates as junior officers.

In the previous year's implementation, President Prabowo appointed about 2,000 cadets from the Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Police Academy as junior officers.

Of the total, 827 were officers of the Army, 433 officers of the Navy, 293 officers of the Air Force, and 447 officers of the Police.

At the ceremony, the president also led the oath-taking of the junior officers and pinned the rank insignia on the best graduates of the Adhi Makayasa award, as a form of appreciation for academic achievement and leadership during their education.

This year's inauguration is expected to be an important momentum in strengthening the regeneration of TNI soldiers and members of the National Police who will carry out duties to maintain defense, security, and state sovereignty.
