Amazon Introduces The Latest AI Model "Nova", Capable Of Making Videos From Text

JAKARTA This week Amazon announced the launch of a series of recent artificial intelligence (AI) models known as the "Nova" in its annual AWS conference in Las Vegas. The model is designed to produce text, images, and videos, competing directly with companies like Adobe and Meta.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy explained that Nova's model development was driven by a developer's demand for lower latency, cheaper costs, and special adjustment capabilities. "They want better latency, lower cost, and the ability to do fine-tuning," said Jassy.

Rohit Prasad, head of Amazon's division of artificial intelligence, added that Nova will offer higher speeds at competitive prices. "If I have something better, customers will come and use it," he said in an interview.

One of the features that caught the most attention was "Nova Reel," a software that allows the creation of six-second videos from one image or text. In the coming months, users will also be able to create videos for up to two minutes. Prasad also emphasized the importance of watermarking to prevent misuse and spread of harmful content.

Amazon also introduced "Canvas," an AI tool that produces images from short text prompts, as well as a new model capable of processing text, images, sounds, and videos simultaneously.

In addition, Jassy announced plans to update Alexa's voice assistant with advanced AI technology, dubbed the "Manyin" project. However, the project was delayed due to concerns over the accuracy and speed of response.

With this innovation, Amazon is trying to catch up in AI application development and compete with industry players.
