JAKARTA - Mozilla has just released an update for the Firefox browser on Android devices, presenting a new feature that allows websites to automatically open in desktop versions on large screen devices such as tablets and folding phones.

In this 133 version of Firefox update, Mozilla changed the default behavior for large screen devices. Now, websites will open directly in desktop mode instead of cellular mode, similar to the features Google Chrome introduced at the end of 2023 for premium Android tablets. However, Mozilla doesn't limit this feature to premium devices.

desktop mode is automatically enabled on large devices, including tablets and foldable devices such as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Users can also manage this settings through the option in the Settings menu in the Site settings (previously called Site Permissions) section.

Unlike Chrome, Firefox also applies this feature to book-style folding devices. In a short trial, the latest Firefox update on Android has successfully opened a website in desktop mode on folding devices, something Google Chrome isn't currently supported.

In addition, Firefox now provides additional protection on content copied from Private Browsing mode. The text copied to the clipboard in this mode will be considered sensitive content. On devices with Android 13 or later, the clipboard notification will also be disguised to maintain user privacy.

This update shows Mozilla's commitment to providing a more optimal and secure browsing experience for users of large screen Android devices.
