Komdigi Asks For Opsel To Send Blast SMS To Customers Playing Judol

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs encourages cellular operators (opsels) to send SMS blasts to their customers, to prevent and stop them from playing online gambling.

According to Plt. Director General of Digital Infrastructure, Ismail, said that the delivery of this notification in the form of SMS blasts can be done in various forms, be it segmented to all their customers or targeted, which is specifically for the players.

Ismali also hopes that this SMS blast can be sent as soon as possible to the public, because currently Komdigi is compiling a sentence design from the notification.

"Immediately (implemented), so I agree that it will be today, the technical team will discuss it for two days and will design the sentence, which will immediately blast information related to the problem. Hopefully next week it will be moving," said Ismail at the Komdigi Ministry office on Tuesday, December 3 in Jakarta.

Deputy for Analysis and Audit of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), Danang Tri Hartono also hopes that with this collaboration, all South Sumatra can send warnings to online gambling players to stop playing.

"So it is sought through the help of fellow operators from the cellular sector to give a warning to the players to stop their activities," said Danang

Meanwhile, Danang said, as of Q3 of 2024, the amount of money circulation in online gambling activities reached IDR 283 trillion, with a deposit of IDR 43 trillion.
