Again, Kemkomdigi Lowers 21,456 Content And Closes 3 Instagram Accounts Related To Judol

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) announced that it had blocked three Instagram accounts with a large number of followers who were proven to be promoting online gambling.

The three blocked accounts include @jap.short with 284k followers, @sellbie's account with 154k followers, and @japan4trailer with 148k followers.

"The government's commitment is to continue eradicating online gambling or things that lead to it," said Plt. Director of Information Application Control (PAI), Kemkomdigi, Syofian Kurniawan, in his official statement on Monday, November 25.

In addition, the Ministry of Communication and Trade has also taken down or blocked 21,456 content related to online gambling (judol) circulating on social media.

Thus, cumulatively from October 20 to November 25, 2024, from October 20 - November 25, 2024, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) has taken down 374,175 online gambling content.

With details of 344,869 on the website and IP, 16,089 content/accounts on the Meta platform, 8,083 files sharing, 3,235 on Google/YouTube, 1,698 via platform X, 136 content on Telegram, and 64 on Tiktok.

According to Sofyan, in addition to having a bad impact on finances, he said, judol also has a serious effect on mental health. Gambling addiction can trigger chronic stress, anxiety, and depression.

Many people get caught up in online gambling feel ashamed, anxious, and lose hope due to persistent losses. They can even experience social isolation because they don't want other people to know their problems," he continued.

Therefore, Sofyan invites all levels of society to jointly fight online gambling. "Let's fight together against judol. Judol is fraud, judol makes a break!" he concluded.
