JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs strengthens its cooperation with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), in fighting all illegal activities in the financial services sector, including online gambling.

Through this collaboration strengthening, the complaint site from Komdigi, namely Cekrekening.id, will be integrated with anti-scam centers from the OJK, which aim to oversee every illegal transaction in Indonesia.

"So these are joint efforts that we will do, we want to remind, with the strengthening of cooperation like this, all accounts can be monitored," said Minister of Trade Meutya Hafid in a press conference on Thursday, November 14.

Thus, Meutya also emphasized that later every transaction in Indonesian public accounts will be monitored. If illegal crimes are found such as online gambling, the account will be blocked.

"So we don't want to, sorry, yes, this must be done if there are indications of illegal crimes including online gamblers, of course the big ones will also be monitored for their accounts, and if this is indeed monitored, we will block it," said Meutya.

Later, if Komdigi finds an illegal transaction in an account, they will immediately send the account data and the owner to the OJK.

From there, the OJK will immediately follow up on the report by blocking or freezing the account.

"But in its development, of course, we also ask the bank to deepen the account earlier and the owner of the account, to carry out a comprehensive assessment and take similar steps for other accounts owned by people who have blocked accounts," said Mahendra Siregar, chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority at the same time.

Meutya emphasized that this step is an affirmation of the government's commitment, especially the Ministry of Trade to the community, not to play games with online gambling.
