JAKARTA - Lazada released a report entitled Adopsi Artificial Intelligence (AI) in eCommerce in Southeast Asia which was developed with Kantar, to understand more about the needs and behavior of consumers towards AI.

"Through research collaboration with Kantar, Lazada is committed to understanding and meeting customers' needs for the best shopping experience," said Head of Operations Lazada Indonesia, Amelia Tediarjo on Thursday, November 7 in Jakarta.

Kantar's research results show that 54% of Indonesian respondents use the AI feature to get more personal shopping recommendations.

In fact, 53% of customers consider the use of AI in e-commerce as in the AI chatbot feature, product search with images, product recommendations, and product review analysis, to facilitate their shopping process.

This report also shows that more than half of Indonesia's (64%) respondents use higher chatbots than other countries in Southeast Asia.

AI Expert & Co-Founder Feedloop.ai, Ajie Santika explained that the high interest in the AI feature in e-commerce is driven by GenAI's ability to simplify various application processes into multiple clicks.

So far, we are familiar with AI that can do something. Now, the development of technology gives birth to GenAI not only to do it, but also to make it, "explained Ajie.

According to him, GenAI can analyze very large datasets and learn their patterns, then produce new outputs. This technology is also believed to be very helpful for productivity because it can simplify the process.

"As a level higher than AI, GenAI allows simpler processes for users to find what they are looking for by just a few click'' times, as in the features offered by Lazada," he concluded.
