ChatGPT Releases Advanced Voice Feature On Mac And Windows

JAKARTA The development of the ChatGPT application for desktop is indeed running slowly. OpenAI only released ChatGPT on Mac last June, while the new version of Windows was available last September.

With this slow launch, the features available are not as good as the app on mobile devices or web desktop versions. Fortunately, OpenAI started rolling out the Advanced Voice feature or voice conversations on the ChatGPT app for desktop.

OpenAI, through its official account on platform X, said it started rolling out voice conversation features on ChatGPT for desktop on Thursday, October 31. Prior to this launch, voice conversation features were only available on mobile apps.

"Big day for desktop. Advanced Voice is now available on macOS and Windows desktop apps," said OpenAI. "To access Advanced Voice on desktop, remember to download the latest version of the app."

Advanced Voice is one of the flagship ChatGPT features because it is able to process conversations naturally. This feature better understands context and emotions, can have conversations in real-time, and the tone of the voice is also made more and more similar to humans.

This is good news for ChatGPT users on desktop, especially Macs. Now, Mac users can take advantage of two advanced technologies in one device, namely ChatGPT with the upgraded Voice and Siri features.

In the near future, Siri will be integrated with ChatGPT so that users can directly interact with ChatGPT when operating Siri. This capability is only available on macOS Sequioa which will be released in December.
