JAKARTA - Since its dramatic debut in 2023, GenAl has experienced an increase in adoption in Indonesia, with 52 percent of Indonesian talents trying it out in their personal work or life.
Based on the Jobstreet by SEEK Executive Report entitled Decoding Global Talent 2024: GenAI Edition, 38 percent of Indonesian workers use GenAl every month.
This report shows a variation in the frequency of use of GenAl between age groups. Where the highest use of GenAI is in the 18'24 year age group (49 percent), 23-34 year age (39 percent), 35-44 (32 percent) age group, and 45 + year age group at 28 percent.
The highest AI adoption was in the digitalization, data science, and AI (75 percent) sector, then in the IT sector (66 percent), and also in the design, art, and architectural sector by 53 percent.
Jobstreet also explains how Generative AI (GenAI) is for jobs in Indonesia, especially concerns about work security and the risk of job loss.

Based on its report, as many as 78 percent of respondents in Indonesia realized that AI would change several aspects of their work, while another 22 percent said AI would not have an impact on their work.
For daily use, Indonesian talents use more AI for studies, learning, research, administrative tasks, and creative tasks, but less in writing tasks than their colleagues in Southeast Asia and globally.
