JAKARTA - Hackers managed to break into a total of 533 million Facebook accounts. Not only users, but information belonging to Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg was also leaked.

Security researcher Dave Walker also found the Facebook CEO's phone number among the millions of data leaked by hackers. Walker found that the number was apparently registered in WhatsApp's rival messaging application, Signal.

"There was some activity yesterday, it looks like the Signal account associated with that number has been closed", Walker said.

"Now I know some people are trying to reach him and I feel it will be annoying", he added.

According to the Android Authority report, it is likely that Mark Zuckerberg used the Signal application with the aim of checking the competitor chat platforms of WhatsApp.

Walker also found out whether the Facebook boss's phone number was registered on the Telegram application, but it wasn't. Until now, Facebook has not commented on this issue.

"This is not something we need to comment on and nothing needs to be added", Facebook said.

Not only was Zuckerberg's personal data leaked, two other Facebook founders such as Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes were also leaked. Personal data includes telephone numbers, place of birth date, occupation, origin, marital status, and email address, and Facebook ID.

The information leak has been uncovered by Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Alon Gal along with the intelligence agency dealing with cybercrime, Hudson Rock.
