JAKARTA Instagram users who often access Reels can now add songs they like to Spotify quickly. This capability began to roll out widely on October 17.
This new feature is part of the collaboration between Instagram and Spotify. The music streaming platform says that this new capability is designed for users who often find interesting songs on Instagram and want to search for songs on Spotify.
"Spotify is excited to launch a new integration with Instagram which makes it easier to record and immediately add songs to Spotify from Instagram with just one simple tap," Spotify said, quoted from 9to5mac.
Basically, this feature does not only appear on Reels. Every time a user sees content with music in Stories, Notes, and Reels, they can tap on their music and immediately add it to Spotify without having to leave the app.
Before using this feature, make sure that the Instagram account is connected to Spotify. If not, users can open their Spotify account, open the Settings page, click the Connection session, then enter the Spotify account and click Save.

After that, if there is an interesting song in any post, users can immediately tap on the song until the audio preview page appears. On that page, the user will see the Add button with the Spotify logo next to the audio scrub.
If the user clicks on the add button, the song will enter the Song Playlist you like or add to your Library tab. This new feature is still extended and will be available on all Android devices as well as iOS.
The feature of adding songs directly to the music platform is actually nothing new. TikTok launched this feature first and not only connected to Spotify. All songs added by users can enter Apple Music or Amazon Music.
