JAKARTA - Google continues to enrich its search for songs on Android by adding a quick access option via Quick Settings (QS) Tile. In the Google app update version 15.39 (currently still in beta), Android users will see a new "Song Search" Tile with a simple music not notification icon.

With one tap, users can launch the full screengglobe effect introduced earlier this year to search for songs. The search results of the song will be displayed on the Google search results page once the song is recognized. This is Google's first QS Tile, and a similar feature is likely to be coming soon on Wear OS.

This feature comes after the Google app on iOS recently rolled out customizable search widgets, including quick access to "Song Search". The same will also be present on Android.

This QS Til feature is similar to the one offered by Shazam. Apple's app recently added the ability to access song search history by pressing its Tile longer.

Android users now have several ways to access Song Search, from widgets on the main screen, microphone icons in the search bar > search for songs, Google Assistant/Gemini, and Circle to Search.

To add a "Song Search" Tile on Pixel devices, users only need to open full Quick Settings, tap on the pencil icon, then scroll to the bottom and drag Tile to the desired position.

The Song Search Quick Settings Tile feature will be released in stages with version 15.39 of the Google app and is expected to be available in a stable version in the coming week.
