Budi Arie Admits He Has Heard The News That Meutya Hafid Will Become A New Minister Of Communication And Information

Previously, news circulated that the Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Meutya Hafid, would replace Budi Arie Setiadi as Minister of Communication and Information for the Prabowo Subianto cabinet for the period 2024-2029.

Minister of Communication and Information Budi also claimed to have heard the news from various parties. Commenting on the issue, Budi said that he respects whatever the president's decision will be.

"That (about Meutya Hafid being the Minister of Communication and Information) I respect the prerogative of the president because for me we are assigned anywhere we are ready," Budi told the media on Tuesday, October 1 at the Kominfo office in Jakarta.

When reaffirmed by the media, Budi also confirmed the truth of the news. "Yes, we heard from many parties, that's okay. That's right," replied Budi in response to the issue of Meutya becoming the new Minister of Communication and Information.

Nevertheless, Budi emphasized that in the future the decision to appoint politicians from the Golkar Party (Golkar) will be in the hands of Prabowo's new president. "About how it will be up to the president," concluded Budi.

This news emerged when a number of figures were summoned by the elected president Prabowo in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Friday, September 27 yesterday. However, Meutya explained that the meeting discussed the duties of Commission I of the DPR.

Meutya also dismissed the news, insisting that she would not be involved in ministerial matters.

"With him (Prabowo), he is a partner. The elected president is also a partner of Commission I. Yesterday we just completed five laws with him, so it's about the tasks of Commission I," Meutya said as quoted by Detik.
