JAKARTA YouTube has continued to change the price of subscription packages over the past few years. After raising prices for customers outside the US last November, YouTube again made tariff adjustments.

This latest pricing was delivered directly by YouTube via customer email. Currently, the Individual Premium YouTube package sells for IDR 59 thousand per month. However, starting next November, the price of this package will change to IDR 69 thousand.

YouTube explains that this price increase is influenced by platform features and services that continue to be improved. In addition, this price increase needs to be done to support all YouTube content created by creators and artists.

"To continue to provide great service and features, we are raising your subscription price to IDR 69,000/month. We are not making this decision easily, but this update will allow us to continue to improve Premium services," YouTube said.

This price change comes into effect on November 9. If an Individual Premium package user has to restart before that date, the user will pay the current normal price.

"Thank you for being a YouTube Premium member," YouTube wrote in an email to users. "Even though we hope you stay a member, you can cancel the subscription anytime here (Premium Package Cancellation page)."

Reportedly, most of the countries experiencing changes in Premium package prices are in Europe, such as Ireland, Belgium, Italy, and Expenditure. Meanwhile, apart from Indonesia, the affected countries in Southeast Asia are Singapore and Thailand.
