Three Shopeepay Efforts To Support Online Gambling Eradication

JAKARTA - The government is currently focusing on eradicating online gambling. The Ministry of Communication and Information has even made several breakthroughs such as blocking free VPNs, terminating the NAP (Net per Access Point) from Cambodia and the Philippines, and much more.

To support the government's efforts, ShopeePay Indonesia President Director Radityo Triatmojo, as a actor in the financial technology (fintech) industry in Indonesia, said that they had made several efforts to eradicate online gambling.

First, in terms of technology, Radit revealed that they continue to improve cybersecurity from their technology, one of which is the implementation of the FDS or Fraud Detection System.

"Then the second is socialization. This socialization is how we also remind our users and merchants. So there are two important things that we convey, first about online gambling itself, the other is about maintaining user safety, his password," he explained at the Ngobrol Pintar (Ngobrol Pintar) with Kominfo: Action & Fintech Strategy to Face Online Gambling Fraud on Wednesday, September 11.

While the last effort is to collaborate with the relevant Ministries/Institutions or other stakeholders. Because according to him, as fintech players, they understand certain limitations.

"Therefore, there are also several things that we work with and inform each other. Providing input from Kominfo about loopholes, for example. Then from PPATK friends to lists that are already suspected, and so on," added Radit.
