KPK Confiscates IDR 6.8 Billion From OTT Acting Mayor Of Pekanbaru

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated Rp6.8 billion in a hand arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru Risnandar Mahawa on Monday, December 2. The findings were obtained from a number of locations.

"The KPK team has secured a total of nine people, namely eight people in the Pekanbaru area and one person in Jakarta and a total of around Rp. 6,820,000,000," said KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 4 in the morning.

Ghufron said of the nine people who were arrested, only three were named as suspects. Apart from Risnandar, they are the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Pekanbaru Indra Pomi Nasution and the Acting Head of the General Section of Pekanbaru City Government, Novin Karmila.

The billions were found with details, Rp1 billion was obtained by the KPK from a backpack when Novin was arrested in the Pekanbaru area. Then, the KPK found Rp1.39 billion from Risnandar together with his aide during an arrest at the Mayor's Office House. The money was previously given by Novin.

Then the team that moved also found Rp2 billion in Risnandar's private house in Jakarta. The money was handed over by his wife, Aemi Octulandari Amir.

Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission also found Rp830 million in Indra Pomi Nasution's private house. This money was allegedly received from Novin.

"Based on the overall IPN recognition, the money he received from NK in the amount of Rp. 1 billion, but Rp. 150 million has been given by IPN and YL (Yularso) of the Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency and Rp. 20 million to reporters," said Ghufron.

Ghufron explained that the team secured Rp375.4 million from Nadya Romin Puteri, who is the son of Novin Karmila at Kost Casa Tebet Mas Indah.

"In the NRP account, there is a balance of his account of Rp. 375,467,141.00. A total of Rp. 300 million in the account comes from a cash deposit made by RS (Rafli Subma, a general staff member) on the order of NK on December 2, 2024," he said.

Not only that, investigators also received Rp1 billion from Novin's brother, Fachrul Chacha. There is also a fund of Rp100 million obtained at the Acting Mayor's Office House.

"The last team headed to AN or U (Untung)'s house in Ragunan to secure at least Rp200 million," concluded Ghufron.
