JAKARTA Before the stable version of iOS 18 was launched, Apple invited developers to send a special application or update the operating system (OS). This invitation opened last September 10.

This invitation is not only given to iOS developers. All developers on iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS, tovisionOS are also invited to submit new applications or app updates that match their OS.

Before uploading the latest apps, developers are asked to customize their app to Apple's latest system. "Make sure your app takes advantage of the latest capabilities on Apple platform so you can bring in innovative apps."

For iOS developers, Apple invites users to use the latest version of XCode which includes the Apple platform's SDK. Using the latest version of XCode, the applications created by the developer will be integrated with advances on Apple's platform.

"All iOS and iPadOS applications uploaded to the App Store Connect must be made with at least Xcode 15 and iOS 17 SDK. Starting April 2025, all iOS and iPadOS applications uploaded to the App Store Connect must be made with iOS 18 SDK," Apple said.

In addition to using the latest version of the Integrated Developer Environment (IDE), developers are required to do testing in the XCode simulator. This needs to be done so that developers can find problems in the application and solve the problem before the application is released.

"Test your app with the latest device or Xcode simulator to make sure the app is ready to take advantage of its edge-on display by complying with the safe area, supporting adaptive layouts, and more," Apple explained.
