JAKARTA - Huawei has finally announced the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design which is highly anticipated, marking an important milestone in foldable device technology. As the world's first trifold smartphone, Mate XT really stands out in a market dominated by conventional foldable devices.

Mate XT comes with a unique trifold design, allowing a much larger inner screen than its competitors. When it opens, it has a 10.2-inch screen with 3K resolution, effectively turning it into a full tablet. Huawei also offers optional keyboard accessories to support the functionality of this tablet.

This tablet is thin and light like any other foldable device, but what distinguishes it is Z-shaped folds. One side folds backwards, while the other side folds forward. This design may take time to get used to new users.

Despite having an innovative folding mechanism, the XT Mate still maintains a very thin profile. When folded, the thickness is only 12.8mm thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 which has a thickness of 12.1mm when folded.

This device uses a silicon carbon 55600mAh battery, which Huawei claims is one of the thinst in the world. The Huawei Mate XT shows a huge leap in foldable smartphone technology, combining large screens with upgraded portability. It will be very interesting to see how this device performs in everyday use. The Huawei Mate XT will be officially sold starting September 20 in China.
