Apple Launches IPhone 16 And IPhone 16 Plus With Camera Button Features And Faster Processors

JAKARTA - Apple officially announced the launch of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus at the "It's Glowtime" event on September 9, 2024. Both models come with designs similar to their predecessors, but with several significant improvements, including faster processors, new vertical camera settings, and additional dedicated buttons to control the camera.

The rear camera is now vertically compiled to support the taking of Spatial Photos that can be seen in 3D format using the Apple Vision Pro. The main camera uses a 48MP sensor with the Telephoto 2x option, as well as a new Ultra Wide 12MP camera. Apple also presents the latest generation from Photographic Styles that allows users to personalize their photos.

Powered by the latest 3nm A18 processors, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are claimed to be 30% faster than the iPhone 15, with Machine Learning capabilities twice as fast and a 17% increase in memory bandwidth.

The screen remains 6.1-inch for the iPhone 16 and 6.7-inch for the iPhone 16 Plus. The ceramic shield is now 50% stronger than the previous generation, and is twice as strong as the glass on other smartphones.

Other new features include customizable Action buttons, and Camera Control buttons that make it easy for users to take photos with a single press. This button can also be configured to open the user's selected camera app, and will support third-party apps like Snapchat in the next few months.

The iPhone 16 is available in five color options: Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White, and Black. Pre-orders will open from September 13, with prices ranging from USD 799 (IDR 12.3 million) for the USD 16 and USD 899 iPhones (IDR 13.8 million) for the iPhone 16 Plus. Delivery is scheduled to start on September 20, 2024.
