JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has submitted a request for harmonization of the Draft Government Regulation (RPP) on Child Protection Governance in the Implementation of Electronic Systems (TKPAPSE) to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Through a letter sent on Monday, August 26, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi said that the RPP was the mandate of Article 16A of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions.

The initial Draft of the TKTAPSE RPP was prepared by involving ministries/agencies in workshop activities in 2023, namely on July 17, 2023 and August 14, 2023.

Then, the TKPAPSE RPP received an initiative permit by President Joko Widodo through the Ministry of State Secretariat on April 3, 2024. And on April 17, May 3, May 7, and May 15, 2024, Kominfo held a discussion meeting with several Ministries/Institutions.

Public consultations have also been carried out through the Children's Workshop on May 18, 2024 by inviting students, teachers, parents/ guardians of students from 7 High Schools in Jakarta, 5 Rights Foundation, and The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

"After the public consultation, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics also invited stakeholders who gave responses or input to the TKPAPSE RPP," said the Minister of Communication and Information in its official broadcast.
