LinkAja Strengthens Risk Management And Technology Infrastructure To Eradicate Online Gambling

JAKARTA - As a solution to payment system providers, LinkAja is committed to supporting every government effort in preventing and anticipating online gambling practices through the #GenerationAwestAntiJudol and #MasaDepanBetter Without A Judol campaign.

One of LinkAja's efforts to prevent online gambling in its electronic system is to strengthen risk management, technology infrastructure, and educational collaboration.

"LinkAja supports efforts to prevent and anticipate online gambling practices, including currently through collaboration with regulators, associations, and industry players in the campaign," said LinkAja President Director Yogi Rizkian Bahar in a statement received on Friday, August 23.

Yogi said that based on the results of the detection of the company's fraud system (FDS), every month, LinkAja managed to collect many accounts indicated as suspicious financial transactions including online gambling.

However, LinkAja admitted that it had routinely conducted analysis and reported it to the competent financial transaction report (LTKM) PPATK.

On average, every month including in July 2024, LinkAja has imposed a ban on transactions automatically against more than 300 accounts detected in real-time by the company's FDS and cracked down on nearly 100 cases by suspending, freezing, and/or blocking accounts.

Furthermore, LinkAja in terms of risk management has also strengthened the existing process of Knowing Your Customer/Merchant (KYC/M), Customer Due Dilligent (CDD), and Enhance Due Dilligent (EDD) in an end-to-end manner, by increasing the ability of the document analysis process, identity, and the suitability of new customer/mechant application data.

LinkAja also continues to evaluate customer/mechant accounts, make incidental and/or periodic visits to high-risk merchants, be responsible for the implementation of KYC/KYM including in terms of, the use of VA and tiered cooperation, and carry out cyber patrol intensively on information on bank and non-bank accounts or QRIS merchants used in online gambling mobile sites or mobile applications that are still active.
