JAKARTA - Following the final decision of the United States Department of Commerce, Kaspersky announced that it had terminated its contract for sale of anti-virus software and cybersecurity products in the United States before July 20, 2024.

Starting September 30, 2024, Kaspersky will be banned from providing anti-virus signature updates and database updates to US consumers and businesses. Until then, the company will continue to fulfill its obligations based on all existing contracts.

This discontinuation was due to last June, Joe Biden's administration announced its plans to ban the sale of Kaspersky Lab antiviral devices in the US because they are considered to pose a critical risk to national security.
