OnePlus Open 2 Coming With Giant Battery, Ready To Rock The World Folding Phones!

JAKARTA - A recent leak reveals that OnePlus Open 2, the latest foldable phone from OnePlus, which is scheduled for release in 2025, will come with a very large battery, which is 6,000mAh. This could be the largest battery ever on a foldable phone, and even big for conventional phones.

This information comes from a well-known tipter, Digital Chat Station, who posted on Weibo that OPPO and Vivo are working on a large foldable phone that will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Both phones are rumored to be launching in the first quarter of 2025 and will have a 6,000mAh battery.

OnePlus Open 2 is expected to be the global version of the OPPO Find N5, continuing the tradition in which OPPO Find N3 was released globally as the OnePlus Open. If true, this means OnePlus Open 2 will be a foldable phone with a significant increase in battery from the previous model which only had 4,805mAh batteries. In fact, this battery is bigger than the OnePlus 12 battery which is already large capacity, which is 5,400mAh.

This battery upgrade is in line with the latest strategy from OnePlus, which recently launched Glacier battery technology. This technology uses silicon-based batteries to deliver greater capacities of the same physical size. The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro available only in China is the first phone to use this technology, carrying a 6,100mAh battery.

In addition, the Digital Chat Station also reiterated previous leaks that HUAWEI is working on a tri-fold foldable phone with a double hinge design. This device is said to be using the Kirin 9-series chipset and offering a variety of new technologies.
