JAKARTA - The Google Search application for iPhone and iPad, which is basically a separate browser, now offers a customizable homescreen icon.
In addition to the 'G' logo of red, yellow, green, and blue default on the white background, now available a version of dark background. It is equipped with a 'G' dark on the bright and vice versa, bringing the total to four options.
There is a precedent for this color variant, with the Google search bar widget on Android offering the same logo option.
To customize, tap on your profile picture on Google Search, then select Settings > General > Change the app icon. This feature is launched in version 324.0.
