JAKARTA - Google and Apple are collaborating to launch a new tool that allows users to be able to transfer images from Google Photos to iCloud.
Found first by 9to5google, as part of the Data Transfer Initiative (DTI), this tool will complement existing transfers that are first made possible from iCloud Photos to Google Photos.
Offers from Apple and Google will be rolling out in stages starting next week and are the latest tools supported by open source Data Transfer Project (DTP) technology stacks.
With this tool, you don't need to download, upload, or do anything other than start the process on the web.

Apple's support page says this process can take several hours to complete it, depending on the size of the transfer.
It should also be noted that this service will not function for children's accounts, Apple ID Managed accounts (prepared through IT admins) or iCloud accounts with an activated Advanced Data Protection.
Launching Engadget, DTI was launched in 2023 as a result of collaboration between Apple, Google, and Meta. Officially, DTI was formed to advance open source Data Transfer Project (DTP) goals, which began five years earlier.
