OnePlus 13 Offers Better IP Ratings From The Galaxy S24

JAKARTA - OnePlus 12 was previously reported to have received a positive response, although one of the main criticisms is the lack of full water resistance. However, a trusted information leak now claims that an increase in IP rating will be present at OnePlus 13.

The Digital Chat Station on Weibo leaked OnePlus 13 specifications, with the most interesting claim that this phone will have a rating "IP68/69". This means the device will have full resistance to water and dust. In comparison, OnePlus 12 only has an IP65 rating, which means it is considered not to survive water immersion.

The IP68 rating will match competitor phones such as the Google Pixel 8 series and the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup. However, the IP69 rating will make OnePlus 13 last longer than almost all major flagship phones. This rating means this phone is certified to survive high-pressure water sprays and high temperatures. The increase to IP68 or IP69 ratings will be a long-awaited major spike for OnePlus.

The main question is whether this IP rating upgrade will apply to all OnePlus 13 models. Over the years, OnePlus has offered IP68 ratings for some flagship, but this feature is mostly limited to operator versions.

The Digital Chat Station also confirms several other important specifications, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, the 2K "micro-curved" screen, "large super" silicon-based batteries, 100W cable charging, and wireless charging support.

Other specifications include the Hasselblad three-camera system (including a 3x 50MP periscope lens), an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a large vibration motor.

With increased water resistance and other advanced specifications, OnePlus 13 seems ready to compete with the best flagship phones in the market.
