JAKARTA - Worldcoin announced its partnership with the web3 infrastructure platform, Alchemy, on June 26. This collaboration will provide Worldcoin developers with a suite of tools and infrastructure from Alchemy to build a new blockchain called World Chain.

World Chain will prioritize human verification, digital identity, and decentralized applications while complying with privacy and security standards. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who is also the founder of Tools for Humanity, along with Alex Blania, is responsible for the development and promotion of the Worldcoin project.

In April, the Worldcoin Foundation announced the creation of the World Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain designed to increase the efficiency of the Worldcoin project. The World Chain will facilitate World ID assignments to individuals who verify their humanity through eye scans. According to its website, nearly 6 million people have signed up for Worldcoin.

Alchemy's integration with World Chain will provide important tools for developers such as API core nodes, account abstractions for smart wallets, and data indexing. In addition, according to the announcement, the World Chain will collaborate with the wider Optimism, Coinbase, and Ethereum ecosystem as part of the Superchain initiative. After migration from OP, the Mainnet World Chain will become a new home for World ID and World App.

Alchemy's Noam Hurwitz highlighted the purpose of this partnership to upgrade blockchain apps and bring more mainstream users into the network.

Quoted from Crypto Potato, Hurwitz said, The fundamental method to improve blockchain apps and get more block space is to use rollups, a key infrastructure that we partnership.

As part of the expansion effort, Worldcoin will start its operations in Europe on June 26, launching World ID orb verification in six locations in two European cities. This marks the first step of the project to Europe after successful implementation in several Latin American countries.
