Former SpaceX Worker Sues Elon Musk For Allegations Of Sexual Harassment And Retaliation

JAKARTA Eight former workers at SpaceX filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk on Wednesday, June 12. The billionaire was sued on charges of sexual harassment and detrimental revenge. One of the former workers who sued Musk said that the SpaceX owner had created a bad work environment. Thanks to his habit on social media, SpaceX's environment developed with a sexism culture. "(Musk) consciously and intentionally created an unfriendly work environment based on its behavior that inserts photos, memes, and heinous sexual comments that demean women and/or the LGBTQ community in the workplace," the employee said in his lawsuit, quoted from Bloomberg. With the growing sexism culture, several former employees who filed a lawsuit say they were victims of harassment directly. Senior technicians often mention the components of the mechanism with terms that demean women. "It is commonplace for technicians to apply harsh and degrading names to products as an attempt to give up, often at the expense of women and individual LGBTQ+," explained the plaintiffs.

For example, male technicians call the first phase camera Falcon rockets that see the bottom of the second phase as upskirt cameras or inside-soft cameras. This shows that they are used to harassing women in the work environment. All of these former employees admitted that they were fired directly by Musk after making a complaint to the National Labor Relations Council (NLRB) and made an open letter in 2022. When resource officials suggested SpaceX conduct an investigation, Musk was accused of answering, "I don't care, fire them". They are responsible.
