JAKARTA - ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), one of the leading data center providers, announced the readiness to use artificial intelligence (AI) in its data center facilities operating in the Southeast Asia region.

Currently, STT GDC has data centers in six major Southeast Asian countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and most recently in Vietnam, which have a capacity of more than 500 MW.

Part of this capacity is designed to serve AI clusters and general computing workloads. Currently, AI clusters are operating in STT GDC data centers in Singapore and Thailand. Gradually in the next two years, AI clusters are expected to also operate in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

This AI cluster is claimed to provide flexible and cost-effective access to hyperscale accelerated computing clusters supported by the latest GPU technology for companies, governments, and cloud computing service providers, very suitable for rapid deployment of AI training and inference workloads in various industries.

The data center is also equipped with advanced cooling solutions that support liquid immersion cooling and direct-to-chip cooling technologies.

STT GDC is currently also supporting GPU workloads through its cloud computing service provider NVIDIA, at the STT GDC Thailand campus, and is in talks with other customers for their AI needs at STT GDC’s data center campus in Southeast Asia.

“We are committed to meeting the needs of our customers wherever they are, and starting in Southeast Asia (SEA), we will continue to bring our expertise in providing the flexible digital infrastructure needed to support accelerated computing workloads such as AI,” said Lionel Yeo, Chief Executive Officer – Southeast Asia, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres.
