Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, said that currently Kominfo is considering policies related to social media X which states that it does not prohibit pornographic content on its platform.

"We are studying it. Then the Director General of Aptika is discussing it, if negative content is rich in pornography of all kinds, then action will be taken according to applicable regulations," said Nezar when met by the media at the Kominfo office on Friday, June 7.

Nezar also emphasized that currently, Kominfo, especially the Directorate of Applications and Information Technology, is considering blocking X or only pornographic content.

"Yes, we will weigh (which is blocked by the platform or content only) because there are many other content that is positive," said Nezar further.

Nezar also said that Kominfo plans to send a letter to X so that negative content such as pornography is not included in the user's timeline in Indonesia.

Previously, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi had made a statement that Kominfo would not hesitate to block X if they did not follow the rules in force in Indonesia regarding the spread of immoral content so that the platform could continue to operate.

"All policies of X that are contrary to the applicable rules and regulations will still be subject to sanctions, including blocking and/or fines," Budi said as quoted by ANTARA.
