Wamenkominfo Calls Cybersecurity Is An Important Key To Creating VID 2045

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, said that cybersecurity strategies are one of the important keys in realizing the 2045 Indonesia Digital Vision (VID).

According to him, through increasing the cybersecurity culture for all parties, Indonesia can provide a more reliable and productive digital ecosystem.

"The good example carried out in Singapore is through a Digital Defense approach that makes cybersecurity the responsibility of all components of society in Singapore," said Nezar, quoted on Friday, May 31.

Nezar explained that Singapore's Whole-of-Nation approach encourages every citizen to be responsible for implementing good cybersecurity habits, being aware of hoaxes and disinformation.

"Including considering the impact of personal actions in the digital space for the community," he said.

Therefore, Nezar encourages each individual to be active in cybersecurity efforts according to their respective capacities. Not to forget, he also emphasized the importance of the government's role in creating a secure digital space to increase digital literacy.

The Deputy Minister of Communication and Information also encourages industry players to continue to improve cyber security and provide education for users regarding cybersecurity.

Meanwhile, at the same time academics continue to conduct research and development related to cybersecurity issues.

"Finally, no less important, the public must also continue to increase their vigilance and personal security practices in the digital space," he said.
