David Baszucki Makes IDR 65 Trillion From Roblox Game

Roblox is a game that has game characters like Minecraft. Now Baszucki is among the richest people in the world. In this game, players can build a virtual world according to their own wishes. Roblox is a free game that anyone can play. It also provides a number of items that can be purchased by players.

Recently, Roblox has made it to the floor on Wall Street, the United States stock exchange. On the first day of trading, its shares have rocketed by 50 percent to 69.5 US dollars per share. This brings the Roblox valuation to USD 30 billion.

As one of the founders of Roblox, Baszucki has shares in Roblox worth USD 4.6 billion (approximately IDR 65.78 trillion). Because of that, his name was included in the list of the richest people in the world.

"We like the live listing of Roblox because we will all be united and the price on the first trade is the same for everyone", Baszucki said, quoted by Bloomberg, Friday, March 12.

Roblox gained its popularity during the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world. When many children and teenagers are forced to stay at home, this game appears as a form of entertainment that many of them play. Roblox is also a virtual meeting place for teenagers.

"Our vision for the future truly connects the world on the Roblox platform, and enables you to connect with people", said Baszucki.

The Roblox founder is a graduate of Stanford University who has earned his degree in electrical engineering. In 2004, Baszucki and his partner, Erik Cassel, founded the Roblox Corporation. This was done by both of them after creating educational software for teaching physics.

By 2020, Baszucki owned 12 percent of Roblox. He will also receive an additional 11.5 million shares of the company, provided that Roblox succeeds in fulfilling the things the company has targeted.
