JAKARTA - Even though the 5G network is not yet available in Indonesia, the successor to the 4G network will provide a number of conveniences for internet users in the country. A number of cellphone manufacturers have launched new smartphones that have 5G support.

If a 5G network is available, smartphone users only need to update the software. This was disclosed by Taufiqul Furqan as Product Marketing Manager for Samsung Mobile PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia.

"Just do a software update because you have to unlock the operators who are already supported. For example, later on, Telkomsel has to be registered with our software so that the 5G signal can be captured", said Taufiq at a virtual discussion, Friday, March 12.

He also added that cellphones that support 5G networks will be more diverse in the future. The users are expected to wait.

Taufiq revealed the features that smartphone users can enjoy when a 5G network is available, one of which is the higher resolution quality when streaming.

Not only that, but gamers can also enjoy the advantages of this 5G network with the presence of cloud gaming which can make latency even lower.

"Not only games that are installed on smartphones, but also with a cloud gaming provider, it can do much smoother because of the low latency", he said.

Not only gaming, video calls, and online meetings will also be clearer than before. Feedback when holding virtual meetings will also occur in real-time without any lag.

In addition, the 5G network will allow users to experience a very fast download experience than before when using the 4G network.
