TikTok Tests Search Results Using ChatGPT

JAKARTA TikTok is testing the AI Search Highlight feature on the smoothing page. This generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based feature will summarize the contents of various videos and make them in the spotlight. The AI Search Highlight Feature will appear when users search for a topic in the smoothing box. This feature is seen at the top of the video, just below the search box, and needs to be clicked to see the whole of the summary results. These AI-based search results can be used to find out about the best laptop this year or the desired food prescription. If users are looking for a food prescription, they will get an explanation in the form of the fabrication stage. The page of the AI Search Highlight feature explains that the material is supported by OpenAI's ChatGPT. While at the bottom of the AI search results, TikTok will display videos that are considered relevant to the algorithm system.

"Al Smart Search (dalam fitur Sorotan Pencarian) memberikan jawaban ChatGPT atas permintaan pencarian. Algoritma TikTok menampilkan jawaban-jawaban ini jika dianggap relevan dengan pencarian Anda," jelas TikTok, mengutip dari The Verge. Mengingat fitur ini masih diuji, hasil penelusurannya masih sangat terbatas sehingga tidak semua topik menampilkan hasil penelusuran berbasis AI. TikTok pun menjelaskan bahwa, "Kesalahan seperti jawaban yang tidak akurat atau tidak relevan terkadang dapat terjadi." TikTok juga memiki fitur serupa yang diberi label sebagai buatan AI di bagian atas hasil pencarian, tetapi tidak jelas apakah fitur tersebut juga ditenagai oleh ChatGPT atau diambil dari rangkuman video. Sama seperti Sorotan Pencarian AI, fitur ini tidak selalu muncul. Belum diketahui dengan pasti kapan fiturnya akan dirilis ke versi publik karena TikTok belum memberikan pernyataan resmi. Namun, perusahaan itu memang sedang mengembangkan beberapa fitur terbaru, salah satunya adalah penelusuran topik ke Google Search.
