Blizzard Confirms, Cancellation Of The 2024 BlizzCon Event Is Not A Decision From Microsoft

JAKARTA - After stating that he would not hold the BlizzCon this year, Blizzard Entertainment again confirmed that this decision was Blizzard's own decision.

Blizzard's spokesman told Windows Central that the decision not to hold the 2024 BlizzCon was not a decision made by Microsoft leadership.

"This is Blizzard's decision. We have explored various event formats in the past and this isn't the first time we've missed BlizzCon or tried something new," the spokesperson said.

He also added, 'Although we have a lot of great things to share in 2024, the timing is not right. line up for one event at the end of the year.'

BlizzCon itself is a well-known Blizzard convention event, usually held annually and held at the Anaheim Convention Center in the United States.

However, Blizzard also announced where they will share more details about its upcoming new titles later this year, including the World of Warcraft: The War Within and Diablo IV's first expansion, Vessel of Hater, in the next few months.

"On the other hand, we want to focus on highlighting each game and its moments - a few days as Warcraft, the upcoming release of the World of Warcraft: The War Within, and Diablo IV's first expansion, especially Vessel of Hater," he added.

Not to forget, Blizzard will also be holding its esports tournament, Overwatch Champions Series at Dreamhack Dallas and Dreamhack Stockholm.

Meanwhile, to celebrate Warcraft's 30th anniversary, there will be several private celebration events around the world, along with in-game celebrations across franchises.
