Debris That Crashed Into A Florida House Confirmed As Space Waste

JAKARTA NASA confirmed that the object that fell and crashed into a house in Florida in March was space junk. The trash came from the International Space Station (ISS). After being analyzed at the Kennedy Space Center, it was revealed that the object that fell was part of a cargo palette dumped from the ISS in 2021. The cargo pallet containing the hybrid nickel battery weighs about 2,630 kilograms. This very hard object was supposed to catch fire in Earth's atmosphere on March 8, but there was a small part that managed to escape. Although the weight did not reach one kilogram, it was able to penetrate the roof of one of the residents' homes in Naples. Before being confirmed, NASA assessed the dimensions and features of the object to determine the origin of its objects. The state agency also conducted material analysis so they could find out that the object that fell was the buffer pole of the cargo palette. "Based on inspection, the body (NASA) determined the debris as a support support support pole of NASA's aviation equipment used to install batteries on cargo palettes," NASA wrote via the official blog.

NASA mengatakan bahwa ISS akan menyelidiki prosesde-orbituntuk mengetahui penyebab masuknya sisa puing."Model-model ini memerlukan parameter masukan yang terperinci dan diperbarui secara berkala ketika ditemukan puing-puing yang selamat dari atmosfer yang masuk kembali ke dalam tanah," jelas NASA.Dengan mencari tahu penyebab lolosnya penyangga palet kargo, NASA berkomitmen dalam menjaga keselamatan manusia dari perangkat keras yang dilepaskan di luar angkasa. Analisis yang NASA dan ISS lakukan akan memitigasi risiko di masa depan.
