JAKARTA - Workers at Apple Stoer in Short Hills, New Jersey, have proposed a union representation, a staff member who is also part of the organizational committee on Wednesday, April 10, said amid support for establishing unions in corporate sectors in the United States.
Companies including Starbucks coffee network, e-commerce company Amazon.com, and software giant Microsoft are facing union efforts from employees who want better work conditions.
Apple's retail staff at the New Jersey store submitted a union representative with Communications Workers of America on April 8, according to John Nagy, who is the operational leader at the Short Hill store and a member of the organizational committee.
"We are inspired by co-workers at Oklahoma City and Towson, Md. who managed to form their union, and we know that our strength will increase with every new shop that forms the union," said Nagy.

The tech company has also been accused of previously intervening in union efforts at its Manhattan retail store, which the company denies.
