Booking.com Already Registered With PSE, Kominfo Gives 10 Days For Other Travel Services To Register

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has written to six Online Travel Agents (OTA) to immediately register with Electronic System Operators (PSE) in Indonesia.

As of March 15, 2024, based on VOI monitoring on the http://pse.kominfo.go.id page, there are already three OTAs that have registered, including Agoda,com, Booking.com, and also Airbnb.com.

While the remaining two OTAs, namely Klook.com, Trivago.co.id, Expedia.co.id, are still requesting an extension of the registration time to Kominfo. From the beginning the deadline for registration falls on March 14, now it has been extended for the next 10 days.

"Those who have not registered for the Group, Trivago. They have written two days ago asking for an extension (time) a month, I will give them 10 working days," said the Director General of Informatics Applications at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan on Friday, March 15.

Previously separately, the Director General of Information and Public Communication (IKP) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Usman Kansong spoke to VOI that Kominfo gave OTA time to immediately register until the end of March.

Because if not, like previous cases, online travel services that do not register with the Private Scope PSE in Indonesia will be terminated or block the service.

"For example, a week before the end of the month, we try to ask again. This is us looking for a way out, not punishment. At least we have another reminder. If not, of course we will block it," said Usman when contacted recently.
