Google Pixel 8 Series Wins Best Phone Award At MWC 2024

JAKARTA Mobile Word Congress (MWC) is an annual technology exhibition organized by GSMA. Apart from being an exhibition event, this event also held a Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO).

GLOMO is a prestigious award for the mobile industry. There are many categories presented at GLOMO 2024, one of which is Best Cellular Technology. However, the biggest award for the Device category is the Best Mobile Phone.

Candidates for Best Phones are the iPhone 15 Pro series, OnePlus Open, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, as well as the Google Pixel 8 series. Of the four companies that are candidates, Google managed to bring home the award.

Based on the 9to5google report, this year's award is Google's first win for the Best Phone category. This victory proves that the Pixel 8 series has better technology than its competitors.

Rick Osterloh, Google's SVP of Devices and Services, shared the moment of winning the Pixel 8 series on platform X, formerly known as Twitter. According to Rick, Best Phone is a very important award on MWC.

"Thank you to the entire Pixel user community for helping us achieve that goal, and congratulations to our team for the incredible progress!" Rick wrote on his social media on Thursday, February 29.

For two consecutive years, Apple won Best Phone Awards for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, in 2021, Samsung brought the award home for the Galaxy S21 Ultra device.

For this year, the Best Mobile Appraisal System is still the same. During the January to December period last year, analysts, journalists, and influencerindependents determined one cellphone that was considered to be in high innovation and was more leading.
