Apple Bans IPhone Reduction Methods Using Rice

JAKARTA Phones that fall into the water must be dried immediately so that the components are not damaged. Usually, rice will be used to dry cellphones, but Apple strictly forbids this action.

When using rice to dry the phone, usually the device will be put in a small container filled with rice. According to Apple, this action can damage the phone because the rice particles will enter the device.

"Don't put your iPhone in a bag of rice. Doing so can cause small particles of rice to damage your iPhone," Apple said through a support page. Apart from rice, Apple also added two other bans.

IPhone users should not dry their devices using external heat sources or pressurized air such as ahair dryer. Users also cannot enter tissue or cotton when they want to dry the connector.

To get rid of people's habit of using rice to dry devices, Apple provides several steps that need to be done when the iPhone is wet. First, position the iPhone standing with the connector facing down.

After that, tap on the iPhone gently using your hands until all the fluids come out of the iPhone hole. If so, leave the iPhone in a dry place with air flow for 30 minutes. Don't leave the phone on the hot terrace.

After being left alone for 30 minutes, try to charge the device. If the screen warns that the liquid is still there, dry the iPhone again in a dry place and has air flow. Leave the device for one day.

If so, you can try to recharge it. However, if the fluid warning continues to appear or your phone is completely off, you need to contact the service provider and repair the iPhone because the components or accessories may be damaged.
