JAKARTA – YouTube, a platform created by Google, plans to introduce new features in the feed section. This feature is related to display recommendations so that the user's user experience can improve.

From the findings of 9to5google, YouTube plans to launch a video recommendation feature based on color. The platform will provide three additive color options that will be adjusted to the video thumbnail, namely red, green and blue (RGB).

This feed recommendation feature is being tested by YouTube. When a user is scrolling or just opens a feed, the video streaming platform will ask a question in the form of a pop-up that says, “Want something new?”

Under the question, YouTube will display three additive colors along with a caption that says, “Create a video feed based on color and enjoy browsing.” Users can allow the feature by pressing the Let’s go button.

When a color is selected, the feed will update with more uniform thumbnails. If you choose red, the thumbnail will be dominantly red, likewise if you choose blue. This RGB color can be changed via the button on the home screen, right next to the search icon.

Even though the only colors you can choose from are red, blue, and green, the looks are endless. Users can get secondary colors from these three colors. For example, when users choose red, they can get yellow.

This feature, which seems to be available to Android and iOS users, is still being tested, but it is not yet known when the feature will be released. Users can't expect much yet because this feature is still experimental and can be withdrawn at any time.
