TikTok Employee Layoffs In The Sales And Advertising Division

JAKARTA TikTok is one of the companies in the technology industry that has terminated employment (PHK). The video platform developer has cut employees in two divisions.

An unnamed employee said TikTok had stopped employees in sales and advertising divisions in Los Angeles, New York, Austin, and several other countries.

The employee explained that layoffs are part of a regular reorganization. However, this time TikTok deliberately cut its employees to reduce company spending. So far, TikTok has stopped 60 employees.

In accordance with NPR sources' statements, TikTok routinely lays off. At the beginning of last year, TikTok stopped several recruitment staff in Dublin, while in 2022, the company laid off to overhaul the company's structure.

Apart from TikTok, its parent company, ByteDance, also laid off last year. They cut hundreds of workers at Marvel Snap and Nuverse. With cuts that continue to occur every year, TikTok and ByteDance are thought to be experiencing difficulties.

Apparently, the technology industry is getting more difficult at this time because Google has also been doing massive layoffs since early January. They cut thousands of employees from hardware divisions, sales departments, core engineering, and much more.

Apart from Google, Amazon also laid off on January 19. They fired five percent of staff in the Buying Division with Prime. Meanwhile, Twitch, an Amazon subsidiary, cut 500 employees to reduce the company's costs.
