JAKARTA – After entering beta testing, WhatsApp has finally launched the voice messaging feature into Channels. This feature can be used to increase engagement on Channels.
The news of the launch of this voice message feature was confirmed directly by Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. He said that, “We (Meta) announced many new features for WhatsApp Channels, including voice notes.”
Since Channels were first introduced, Channel admins or owners have only been able to share photos, videos, GIFs, and informative text with their followers. Now, Channel owners can provide more information via voice messages.
By sending voice messages in Channels, communication between admins and followers will be better. The reason is, the voice message feature can provide dynamic and expressive information so that the message can be captured more easily.
The first artist to use Channels and already taking advantage of the feature is Puerto Rican Rapper, Bad Bunny. The owner of the channel with 19.7 million followers sent voice messages twice in under a minute.

Currently, there is no information regarding the time limit for sending voice messages. This feature is also not widely used by Channel owners because WhatsApp is still rolling out the feature in stages throughout the world.
Apart from adding voice messages into Channels, WhatsApp has also added a polling feature into Channels. When the feature was created, Channel followers could vote on the options presented in the poll.
The use of this polling feature is the same as in chat. Channel Owners can create a poll with frequently asked questions, then include some interesting choices. When the poll has been created, users can see the most voted options.
