JAKARTA Google added a new capability in Google TV that can see and receive calls. This new capability comes in the form of a feature called Call Notification.

Reporting from 9to5google, this feature can be activated and disabled through the Settings app. When this feature is active, all call-supporting applications will show notifications if there are incoming calls.

However, when this Call Notification is deactivated, all apps that can receive calls will not display notifications. Google TV users can also set the call notification according to the desired application.

If enabled, you can receive a call from the app that is supported on this device. To adjust the call notification preferences for each app, look at the settings in each app, Google said in the Settings app.

Google added that call notifications will appear if the user profile on Google TV is active. Without activating the user profile, notifications will not appear and users cannot receive calls directly.

Call notification is only shown when you open a personal user profile on this TV. You can customize this setting in another profile to also receive calls when the profile is active," Google explained.

For now, the new call recipient application supported by Google TV is Google Meet. Although only one, Google will add more calling apps in the near future.
